The Desert, Near Tuscon Arizona — A new investigative true crime book, The Abduction of Nancy Guthrie: 100 + Days GONE! . . . by Dr. Harold H. Hammer, Jr., was just recently released, through American Heritage Literary Institute, the publisher. The book offers a rigorous, evidence-driven examination of one of the most puzzling disappearance cases in recent memory.

Blending analytical reasoning with real-world investigative patterns, Dr. Hammer reconstructs a plausible scenario based on known facts, behavioral evidence, and criminal methodology. The work goes beyond traditional true crime storytelling by applying structured probability analysis and forensic logic to uncover what may have happened.

At the center of the investigation is a troubling set of circumstances: no signs of forced entry, delayed ransom communications, and a sudden disappearance that left investigators with more questions than answers. Dr. Hammer’s analysis explores the likelihood of a targeted abduction, the possibility of amateur perpetrators, and the implications of medical complications that may have influenced the outcome.

Her high-tech pacemaker, with telemetry finally decoded. The Sheriff’s continuing troubles with lawsuits and a conflict with the FBI. An absent search helicopter pilot. Missteps in the investigation – did they prevent evidence from being found? Where is Nancy Guthrie and who are the offenders that perpetrated this horrific crime?

“This book represents a disciplined effort to move beyond speculation,” said Dr. Hammer. “

Key elements explored in the book include:

    • A detailed reconstruction of the disappearance timeline
    • Behavioral and logistical analysis of a potential abduction
    • Examination of ransom demands, including cryptocurrency involvement
    • Assessment of competing hypotheses and alternative explanations
    • Identification of critical evidence needed to confirm or refute conclusions

The Abduction of Nancy Guthrie: 100 + Days GONE! . . . is expected to resonate with readers of true crime, investigative journalism, and forensic analysis. Its methodical approach distinguishes it from conventional narratives, offering readers a deeper understanding of how complex cases are analyzed and interpreted. – JBG The Abduction of Nancy Guthrie-2026
This is a book that was tastefully written on a sensitive issue. I was pleasantly surprised by the respect and empathy that are written into this book. No hint of any exploitation, at all, in the entire book. It is obvious that the author is greatly bothered by the abduction and the case not being solved. I was surprised to read about how technically sophisticated the pacemaker was and how long it took authorities to figure it out. There is a lot in this book that indicates a deep understanding of the family's grief and suffering. This book is a good read!
– T.H. Abduction of Nancy Guthrie
100 plus days gone…I wasn’t sure that I wanted to read this book. It is so sad what happened to her as I saw on the news. I thought, since the case was not solved, that the news told us everything that was known. Not so. I found this book to be factual and interesting.  Ive watched the news reports and felt like I knew this lady and her family- but there were questions. The news reports were scattered and sometimes conflicting. The book filled in all the gaps or maybe pulled together all the facts in a quick and informative read. There was so much more to the story than the news told us about. I liked the way the author protected the family in the truthful telling of this story.
– AWBFender Book
Most books about Fender are either technical or full of great guitar photos. Not that way with this one. I always buy Fender guitar books because I play the instruments and like them. But this book has stories that I never heard before. Stuff about what people did to actually figure out how to make electric guitars that sound good and don’t feed back when they are loud. Some of the stories are really funny and others tell the real story about how things actually made the way they were. I liked the book and it has all the sources and timeline at the end.
– SparksDr. James D. Bridges
I was Navy, enlisted, and I served on Sub duty. My boat was conventional, not nuclear, but the isolation, crew morale and duties were pretty much standard. I learned that, on any boat, someone seems to stand out more than all the rest of the crew members. We had really good crews on both the submarines I was assigned to, but nobody the stature of Commander Don Bridges. I believe it is extra amazing that he was so accomplished as a Navy Commander and then as a medical doctor. The book tells a lot about his life, in an interesting way. I think that, because he was so exceptional, and the book was written by a Navy guy, I enjoyed the story more. I especially like “Batman’s Rules”. It reminds me of Gibbs’ rules on NCIS! This is a good book. It could have more pictures and a few more “war” stories, but I liked it a lot!
– SSThe Abduction of Nancy Guthrie
The book, The Abduction of Nancy Guthrie 100+ Days Gone, kept me engaged from start to finish, despite not being an avid reader. he author, Dr. Harold H Hammer Jr, presents known fact in a logical order and avoids presumptive conclusions. Finally, another book should be written once the truth comes out, and justice will be served no matter how long it takes.

This is a book that was tastefully written on a sensitive issue. I was pleasantly surprised by the respect and empathy that are written into this book. No hint of any exploitation, at all, in the entire book... It is a good read! — JBG
